This was easy to identify and I was so surprised that it was Ca. 1898...It's Mettlach #2123....1/2 L...called the Drinking Knight Stein. It's beautiful...but, I have a question though, while examining it, I found a "whoopsie" on the outside of the stein adjacent to the handle... http://www.dynamicwebspace.com/5MB/kitchie/Mettlach.jpg. I was told it could be a clay shrink...or??...will this affect the value? The stein was valued at $1,200 at another site. Thank you so much!
