Thanks Ron! OK my pulse rate is returning to normal! I'm glad the other touchmarks are more in the range of the date I was given for the stein!I'll take a look at the touchmark of the shield on the handle with a loupe magnifier and see if I can see any remnants of anything specific on there. It appears to be a blank shield to the naked eye, but the shield is set into a circle and the background appears textured. You can see it on the top of the handle in the photo: http://www.talesofthesevenseas.com/pewterstein1.jpg I'll also take a look at the other touchmarks and see if I can't make out more of the letters under magnification. Everyone's help is much appreciated on this one, so if anyone else has opinions on this, I really appreciate hearing them!!
