Recently purchased a St. Louis Silver, oak stave and silver stein in "fair shape", as I had been looking for another type of stein to add to my collection. Does anyone want to comment on whether it would be a "sin" to polish the silver, and if not, with what product? Also, what is the best way to re-solder a couple of places where the "appliques" are attached to the base and crown of the stien? Anyone have any silver-soldering experience?
