Dear Lone Star Member,  

  The next meeting of the Lone Star Chapter will be held on June 13, 2009 . We will meet at the ‘Edelweiss’ German Restaurant in West Fort Worth , owned by Bernd and Rhonda Schnerzinger. For many years the ‘Edelweiss’ has been an excellent meeting place for the Lone Star Chapter. The atmosphere, hospitality and great food there have always made our Chapter meetings a pleasant experience.

   Bernd will serve a German style lunch of sausage, sauerkraut, German fried potatoes and bread. The cost of lunch will be  $12.00 per person. There will be an open cash-bar to purchase the beverage(s) of your choice. Please let me know if you will be attending the meeting, and how many will be in your group. You can contact me either by email (SteinMason@aol.com), or by phone (817-300-0463). I will need to let Bernd know how many to expect for lunch. Begin arriving around 10:00 AM . Lunch will be served about noon . As always, bring steins to sell trade or talk about.

   The ‘Edelweiss’ is located at 3801-A  Southwest Blvd. , Fort Worth , TX   76116 .  From I-35 W in Fort Worth , Take I-30 West bound for approx. 6 miles. Exit at Hwy 183 South (exit 7b). Go South on Hwy 183 for approx. 1.5 miles until you come to the traffic circle. Stay to the left. As you loop around the traffic circle, look for the Edelweiss Restaurant on your right.

   Our own Jim Hansen will be the speaker at the meeting. Jim’s presentation will be about “Eagles on Steins”. If you have any steins with eagles on them that you have questions about, bring them along to the meeting with you. Jim has been collecting these types of steins for years and is quite knowledgeable on the subject.

   The March meeting in Tomball went very well. We would like to extend our gratitude to Grady and Sandra Martin for their help in making the necessary arrangements. The meeting was well attended and we had many of the local folks drop by to ask questions about their personal steins. Also, we would like to thank Ron and Sue Fox for attending the meeting. Ron gave a very in depth and informative presentation on steins that Chapter members brought.

   Our Fall meeting will be in the Austin/San Antonio area. I will be sending out an email concerning this when we finalize the details.

   If there is a dues notice with this letter, you owe dues to the chapter for 2009. Please take the time to address this now, before this reminder is forgotten.
