If you are thinking about writing an article for Prosit, we thank you! The following are a few guidelines to keep in mind. The editorial deadline for Prosit is two months prior to the issue date. For example, the deadline for the December issue is October 1. However, because we like to have our Editorial Advisory Board review articles whenever possible, try to submit your article as early as you can. Articles should be on plain paper, using a computer. If the article is not written in Microsoft Word, please save it as a text only file. Send both a hard copy and a disk, or you can e-mail. Articles will not be considered for publication until all of the pieces are submitted, including all words, photos, illustrations, etc. Original glossy photos reproduce much better than computer-generated photos, at this point in time. When using German words, italicize the word the first time it's used, but not thereafter. If it is a German noun, it should be capitalized. Also, the word Prosit should be italicized when referring to the magazine. Refer to your photos, illustrations, etc. as figure 1, figure 2, etc. Do not paste or tape your photos onto your article, or on any other paper. Photos should be in full-color whenever possible. We are trying to use as much full-color as we can, but can't consider that option if you submit black & white photos. On the other hand, good full-color photos can easily be reproduced in black & white. The steins or other objects in your photos should be fairly large on the finished print. Don't stand 10 feet away, as the resulting stein will be very small and will need to be severaly enlarged, diminishing overall quality. Ideally, the object in your photos will be two inches wide or wider. Do not crop or cut your photos. Do not write on the back of your photos with a felt-tip pen, as the ink can be permanently transferred to the front of other photos. Use a regular ball-point pen or pencil, but write very lightly on the backs, so your writing doesn't show through on the front side. Also, no sticky tape on the backs of your photos, please. Photos will be returned. However, do not send your only existing set, as they may be cropped, or accidentally lost or destroyed. Articles should be sent to the editor of Prosit, either as attachments to email or via regular mail. Click here to send email. The PO address is 10085 San Pablo Ave. El Cerrito, CA 94530
